As a mixed-race art student, I thought art school would be different. I had day dreams of showing up on the first day of college and meeting all sorts of people from all different kinds of backgrounds. And, it kind of turned out to be like that, but the teacher demographics seemed to be lacking in diversity.
The project, Addressing the Riddled Past, will be put up in the next two months on the walls of Kansas City Art Institute’s buildings. The project is evolving, and its accompanying blog will be updated with progress shots and additional information as I figure out how to large posters, formerly murals, as well as this blog that can contain my desired message. This blog will act as an additional information/further reading database for my project, since I do have a lot to say and a lot to share with people.
